Globalization is a funny beast. The analysis is varied but the news is depressing. This story has a very personal touch for me: My grand fathers and his kids story is a story of struggle and unknowingly end up on the other side of globalization.

On the other hand, every time I watch the news I want my own lameness filter on humans. I want to go to Titan and setup a base. Only if we can get the internet there first.

A colleague from work forwarded me this brilliant radio documentary about prime numbers. This after I metioned that I read Music of the Primes, Marcus du Satoy actually particiaptes in the program and it is very interesting to hear somebody you have just read. It has been one of the most fascinating book I have read: It combines two of my favourite topics History and science. I notice that I rarely read fiction.

Work is getting busy. It is a different busy though, before busy meant physically exhausting. Now it means different. I am not sure but there are elements of the previous job that I liked and of course there are some things I like about this job. But I think that through the process of figuring out what you dont like, I am figuring out what want to do.

I am addicted to YouTube. You can get practically anything there.. lately I have been watching the Daily Show and the Chappelle's show. I dont get those here on the cable plan I have. I tend to prefer Youtube over google video.

My trip to the UK is still pending. I am still trying to get my credit cards in place. It works the other way here. You have to apply for the card and pay ridiculous charges to own one. They even charge you to close it!! I am not a big fan of credit cards but no website takes anything else and I played safe and closed my Paypal account. Right after someone stole my identity in the US. I can deal with the banks but no way I am going to deal with Paypal.

I am having so many problems with Movable type and my current host. So I am in the hunt for a new one now. I have been here for almsot four years and it has been relatively trouble free except for most of this year it has gone worse. I think that there is a problem with the way they have setup their MySQL server. It seems to time out so many times. If anyone knows any good hosts please feel free to recommend.
